A study by a leading conveyancing software company, InfoTrack, has reported that some 43% of home-movers in the past year have chosen to use a specialist conveyancing firm instead of a local solicitor, which is a 16% increase on the figures from 3 years ago.
“This suggests that consumers of legal services are now seeking out specialist lawyers, as opposed to firms who have a number of fields of work.We ourselves at Kirkham Legal made the decision when we began our business to trade as Licensed Conveyancers, as we purely specialised in domestic conveyancing and could provide a bespoke service to house buyers and sellers who were using our services.We subsequently expanded our licence to also cover Private Client work, which is the only other field of work that Licensed Conveyancers can undertake, so we do very much continue to be a specialist firm and quite different from your usual High Street legal practice” says Kathryn Doogue, Director.
